Infection Control/Covid Precautions
The office follows current protocols and guidelines for dental offices per the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and American Dental Association (ADA). Since its inception in 1989, Advanced Dental Associates has always followed “standard precautions”. The CDC defines Standard Precautions as follows:
“Standard Precautions are the minimum infection prevention practices that apply to all patient care, regardless of suspected or confirmed infection status of the patient, in any setting where healthcare is delivered. These practices are designed to both protect the Dental Healthcare Provider (DHCP) and prevent the DHCP from spreading infections among patients.”
Hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE such as gloves, masks, eye wear), and instrument sterilization are some examples of how Standard Precautions are employed.
The safety of our patients and our staff is and has always been our primary focus. With the inception of COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented enhanced infection control protocols which include the use of gowns, face shields, surgical caps, N95 masks, air purifiers, and hospital-grade ultraviolet light sanitizers.
Although the state's COVID-19 public health emergency ended on May 11, 2023, to align with the end of the Federal public health emergency, our dental providers continue to wear appropriate PPE in the operatories.
Patients are not required to wear a mask in common areas of the office. It is optional if you prefer to wear one.
Please keep in mind that if you have any symptoms of feeling not well, please contact the office ahead of time to discuss keeping or postponing your appointment.
Advanced Dental Associates regularly monitors updates from CDC, OSHA, ADA, and the Commonwealth of MA and adjusts its policies accordingly with the best interest of health and safety for patients and its staff.
